Using Lockage

This walkthrough will show you how to install and use Lockage on Shopify.

Apply age restriction to product  

If you select "Selected pages only" on the home page, you may target the age restriction page to products, by vendor, by collection or by product.




Changing settings

With Lockage, you can customise some settings of the age gate page. 
You can set the verification age, change the introductory text or change the background image



Setting an age to authenticate

  1. 1. Go to the Lockage Home page
  2. 2. Under the heading, Age requirements
  3. 3. Change the value in the "Age" text box, under Set restriction age
  4. 4. Click save changes button


Setting the introduction text

  1. 1. Go to the Lockage Home page
  2. 2. Under the heading, Age requirements
  3. 3. Update the text in the "Set the introduction text" text box
  4. 4. Click save changes button


Change the background pattern

  1. 1. Go to the Lockage Home page
  2. 2. Under the heading, Background settings
  3. 3. Click on the Pattern radio button
  4. 4. Use the dropdown, Background pattern
  5. 5. Click on the Pattern front color and select a new color
  6. 6. Click on the Pattern background color and select a new color
  7. 7. Click save changes button


Setting your own background image

  1. 1. Go to Lockage
  2. 2. On the home page scroll down to the "Background settings" 
  3. 3. Click on "Use your own image" radio button
  4. 4. Using the drop down under Actions, click on Edit code
  5. 5. Click on the arrow up button to uplaod an image from your computer
  6. 6. Locate the image on your local computer
  7. 7. Select and upload
  8. Note: Please make file size less than 2mb, and use file formats jpg or png
  9. 8. Click "Upload the file selected" button
  10. 9. After a moment or two, the file will appear in the files list
  11. Note: If you do not see your image appear on the list after a minute, click the "Refresh list above" button
  12. 10. Select the radio button next to the uploaded file
  13. 11. Click the Save Changes button


Vendors

Product vendors are the supplier where a product is supplied to you from. A vendor may provide one or many products for your store.


With Lockage, you can target all the products under a vendor to display an age rstriction page.





Adding Vendors

  1. 1. Go to the Vendors page
  2. 2. Under the “Add Vendors” section, you will see a list of the Product vendors on your shop
  3. 3. Tick one or more checkboxes next to the vendors
  4. 4. Click the “Add selected Vendors to Locket” button
  5. 5. You will notice the selected vendors are now in the “Current vendors locked” section


Removing Vendors

  1. 1. Go to the Vendors page
  2. 2. Under the “Current vendors locked” section, you will see a list of the Product vendors already in the Locket
  3. 3. Next to the Vendor you would like to remove, click the cross button next to it to remove
  4. 4. Click yes on the confirmation


Collections

You can group your products into collections to make it easier for customers to find them by category.


With Lockage, if you have a collection that requires age restriction, we can target that collection and lock it down.





Adding Collections

  1. 1. Go to the Collections page
  2. 2. Click the “Add collections” button
  3. 3. Select a collection in the list
  4. 4. You will notice the collections(s) have been added to the current list


Removing Collections

  1. 1. Go to the Collections page
  2. 2. Locate the collection you wish to remove
  3. 3. Click the cross beside the collection
  4. 4. Click yes on the confirmation box


Products

Products are the brick and mortar building blocks of what your store is built on. But not all products are built the same, and some products require an age restriction gate.


With Lockage, if you only require age restriction for indiviual products, you can do that here.


Also, you can use Shopify's products add tag feature to password protect products, All you need is to add the tag ""Lockage Locked"" to the product.





Adding Products Individually

  1. 1. Go to the Products page
  2. 2. Click the “Add products” button
  3. 3. Select one or many products in the list
  4. 4. Please wait one to two minutes for changes to occur
  5. 5. Go to the store front and navigate to the products that you have selected


Removing Products Individually

  1. 1. Go to the Products page
  2. 2. Tick on the products that you want to remove
  3. 3. Click the “Remove product” button
  4. 4. Please wait one to two minutes for changes to occur
